Extensions of time in Administrations

Whilst this topic is being covered at almost every course that we are attending at the moment it is still worth repeating here. The Courts are becoming very frustrated with late applications for extensions of time in Administrations. In order to avoid the disastrous consequences of the Administration ending automatically before the date listed for your Court hearing for an application for an extension of time, the current advice from the Courts is to ensure that you make your application at least 4 weeks before the date the Administration is due to end automatically. Whilst you may consider the application urgent as you want your extension of time to avoid being in a nightmare situation, the Court will not if the only reason given is that you need the hearing to dig yourself out of a hole that could have been avoided by making an earlier application.
