Blog and Twitter interaction

Happy New Year!  Regular visitors will have noted that we have stayed quiet on the Blog for a while.  Part of this was because there was little of any urgency to bring to your attention and part of it was that we were considering how to use the Blog more effectively anyway.
Now that we have finished contemplating, welcome to the “new” approach.  First, I should explain that we have kept the same colours and format so that you can still find old articles that you want to refer back to.  The “new” bit is only relevant from 1 January 2013 onwards. From now on our main way of bringing urgent matters to your attention will be on Twitter, with follow-up articles where appropriate appearing on the Blog.  An example of this is in the SIP 9 guidance note article that appears, in the illogical way that only the Blog can achieve, immediately before this note! Not all Tweets will lead to Blog articles and we may still do stand-alone articles about meatier subjects, together with training sessions on the Blog, that are not appropriate for Twitter, but we hope that you will appreciate the new combination of urgent updates and more substantial articles.

As a result, if you want to keep up with the latest developments it is important you follow us on Twitter.  Please follow @ComplianceBill, @ComplianceMike and @ComplyGareth.  You should follow all three of us because tweets will be posted by whoever is free, although we will try to keep related threads on the one account so that they are easier to keep track of.
In a related move, we have switched off the ability for readers to leave comments on the Blog.  This has been done to encourage you to tweet or email us if you have specific queries about anything we have posted.  That gives us an opportunity to both exchange views with you and do further research that may well result in further tweets or articles so that everyone can benefit from the exchanges.
